  • Small Virtual World

I found a fellow blogger from this group while playing Mario Kart online on the Wii yesterday afternoon! I was suprised but recognised his unique username which he uses here too!

I totally suck at this game and did have over 6000 points at one point but kept coming last to a bunch of boys and so lost 300 points and gave up! :(

  • Gamers beware

I flipped on my Wii and the video and audio were not functioning as it should. The video was distorted and black. The audio sounded like grinding gears.

I instantly thought the Wii's hardware was fried as the power went off and on several times yesterday during a ferocious thunderstorm since I leave the Wii plugged into the electrical socket.

After a lengthy investigation, I discovered that the video/audio cables connecting the Wii to the television were loose. Once, I re-established the links, the video and audio were restored!

The lesson I learned is that I should NEVER leave the Wii or any other gaming console plugged in when I am not using it.

    Gamers beware!

  • World of Warcraft: tips for complete newbies (like me)

    1. If you want one of those big strong pets be a Hunter.
    2. Animal loot is worth more than armour or weapons.
    3. Enemies drop bags occasionally, the coloured ones are even worth more than the brown ones.
    4. Professions come in pairs for a reason! Tho some can have different pairings like mining, it works with blacksmithing, jewelcrafting (available in burning crusade) and engineering.
    5. If you choose skinning and leather working the kits you can make to reenforce armour etc can be used on any armour not just leather.
    6. 'Critters' can be skinned, fer instance sheep yield wool cloth when skinned (sometimes, may depend on skill level)
    7. Be wary of groups asking you to join them, they may have crappo loot settings...
    8. Use the underground tram thing between dwarven lands and human, it's free and means you have access to each other's low level quests. It's in each of the two cities.
    9. If you find yourself with extra bags keep hold of them, you'll want them later! Whether to put as an extra bit in your bank, or to send to another of your characters.
    10. make a few characters. Give them dif classes, professions and specialties. Then you can use the mail system to swap things between the two.
    11. Guilds, you can leave by clicking on the party options (top left). You can also leave a group this way.
    12. To start a guild you need to have a guild charter (10 silver) and get 10 people to sign it, they can't be in a guild already and if one of the joins another guild before you take you're charter to be ratified then you will have to get a new signature. A Guild bank costs 100 gold. Tabards, which don't seem to have any use, also cost gold.
    12. If you stand around in one of the cities you will eventually see people selling gold for actual money. Use your own caution here. I'm a purist so I'm not going down that route.
    13. Kill things. Lots of things. When an enemy's level is a grey colour you aren't getting any experience for killing it, but you can still farm items from them.
    14. If you are a normal player (not player vs player) you may come across a player from the other faction, you are able to attack them, but they tend to be a tad bastardly, def don't attack if they've got glowy weapons!
    15. You can speak to guards and they can give you directions, the correct direction will show up as a golden arow in your mini-map, then as a flag when you are close.
    16. you cannot post soulbound items, so if you want to give a good weapon to one of your other characters don't equip it. However most things gained from quests bind to you when you get them.
    17. Ignore weapons damage, look at damage per second.
    18. you can learn weapon specialisations from certain trainers, all found in the main cities. There aren't many trainers tho.

  • Babies and Wii Fit

I thought it was a bit mad that you could actually work out a child's BMI etc on that game! Because my son is only one and a half now and even hen we put his approximate height and date of birth, it told us he is underweight! I don't think he is. He eats quite a bit and I'm not worries about his weight at all!

  • Wii Fit diary entry

When my parents came last Sunday, we have been eating out twice as well as having home-cooking chinese food and on Sunday and Monday I had put two pounds each day. But for lunch today, I have had two biscuits, a Chewee Bar, Chinese Beef Noodles, Coffee and Chinese style carrot soup and lose two pounds! And I weighed myself straight after I ate that bar! too!

Anyway, I am not underweight, quite healthy still. My BMI is just over 20 which is not so bad. (If I was less than 15 I think according to my other half, I would be anorexic!)

My Wii Fit age is 25! WAHOO! :D (Only 4+ years than my actual age!)

I might do some more Muscle Exercises and Yoga now I am alone and my baby is having his afternoon nap after blogging!

  • Sonic Superstars Tennis on Wii - where's the damn tennis???

I was pretty disappointed with this. I had really hoped for a shinier, prettier Wii Tennis and got... well, a basic collection of mini games grouped around thirteen old Sega games with no real logic as to why or where they were connected. The tennis element comes through each "group" being finished by completing a small tennis tournament.

You CAN just about play with the Wii mote by moving it but you can tell it's been designed for other consoles as by far the easiest way to play is to turn your Wii mote on it's side and button smash (like the buttonsmashing girl I am).

I'd only recommend this if you still hold a candle to console games of yore and until they add a Monkey Island minigame it's not going to do much for me.

  • mario kart wii

I know its ment to be realeased tomorrow but a company always lets them out a day early. Ive been playing mario kart on the wii some of the morning its great fun especially with the steering wheel. Ive already got all stars on 50 and 100cc just need to complete the 150cc bit. But i highly recommend it to anyone that has a wii. Maybe if there are any people that want to take me on in a challenge over the wi fi connection just ask me. The downside to the game is that i have to play the japanese who are so dirty but i show them whos boss.

  • Doctor Robotnik/Eggman!?

In our Sonic and Mario Olympics game the character which I have grown up to know as Dr. Robotnik is actually called Dr. Eggman! Why on earth did they change it for!? Eggman sounds very silly to me!

Can anyone explain to me please? ;)
